As we approach the day honoring fathers I would like to take advantage of the sentiment by paying homage to those who made this a very special day for one such as me.
Dear Mother of My Child... “Thank You,” for being the wonderful mother you have been since our child's conception. Months before I could claim to be a father you were already a mother nurturing our child inside your womb with the utmost tender loving care. You did all the necessary things and made bodily sacrifices to ensure that our love making developed into a God fearing healthy human being. Our miracle of creation! As a man I can only imagine what you experienced during that journey. Things like morning sickness, weight gain, a change in your body chemistry, your craving for as well as your dislike for certain foods and let’s not mention the pain you suffered during labor on your delivery day! After giving birth to our child you continued to nurture, teach, help develop, and show an undying love for him/her. Even though we may have disagreed and sometimes got angry over what we considered to be the best decision, words could never express how proud I am, that you were my partner through it all. As the father of our child and on this day that is in honor of me, I stand and applaud you for being the mother you have been and will forever be!
Dear Child of My Loins, I am so appreciative of you for giving me a journey of humility, respect, maturity, humbleness, laughter, tears of joy and an undying love. You have been the kind of child every father wishes for. I may not have been the best parent in your opinion, but I have tried to be the best I can and work with whatever resources, gifts and talents God gave me to use for your upbringing, upkeep and uplifting. As a parent and to follow in God’s footsteps I love you unconditionally. You…you have held up your part of the deal that says honor thy Father and honor thy Mother! You have done this without reservation, preconditions or expectations. As your father and on this day that is in honor of me, I stand and applaud you for being a wonderful God send!
Last but not in no way the least...My Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your miracles, mercy, grace and unconditional love that have been proven so many times in so many ways. I am in no way confused about who I am and whose I am, how I’ve made it this far and who gave me the strength, knowledge, love and time to receive and experience such a blessing, called an obedient child!
Yes this is a day that I’m proud to be called a father and to each of you, mother of my child, child of my loins and because of Him who makes it all possible, the Creator of my existence...

An Insane Slavery Tactic
.An Insane Slavery Tactic!
Are we slaves and have we been enslaved into a system that has been designed for the sake of greed?
In the movie Con-Air, Garland Greene a mass murderer (played by Steve Buscemi) said after being called insane by Poe (played by Nicholas Cage); “Now you’re talking semantics! What if I told you that insane was working 50 hours a week in the same office for 50 years after which they tell you to piss off, ending up in some retirement village hoping to die before suffering the indignity of trying to make it to the toilet in time. Wouldn’t you consider that to be insane?”
Maybe I’m talking semantics! What if I told you that using a credit card when you have cash available to pay for an item is insane!
Okay, say you make $8,000 a month and after every bill for this particular month has been satisfied you see a Bose stereo system for sale that will only cost you $600 dollars plus tax. You decide to use your credit card to purchase it instead of using the cash you definitely have! So now you have an interest charge on your purchase. Not to mention you have been using your card for other purchases. You pay higher than the minimum due, yet you still are locked-in because of interest, annual and possibly late fees. You are now a slave to a system that will be in your pocket for many years if not a life time.
It was once said that if you get people use to doing something long enough, eventually it will become a habit. Credit Card use has become a habit for most people that are or have been employed. The Financial and Banking industry has truly taken advantage of this theory. They are making money from the fact that we're not using our own money but use a system that cost us even more dollars that adds up as a sweet profit for the financial industry. If credit cards didn’t make large profits then so many wouldn’t be in the business of trying to provide one! Yes, when using a credit card you are placing a chain of bondage on your life voluntarily.
Our present President not only made reference to reforming the system doing his campaign but one of his first signed bills was the Credit Card Bill of Rights. In large part, the law fulfills Obama's campaign pledge: It prevents creditors from imposing arbitrary rate increases on customers, it prohibits most rate increases meant to penalize consumers for late payments on unrelated accounts, and it requires companies to post credit agreements on the Internet, among other things.
We, individually and collectively, are just as much responsible for how the system operates as well as our Representatives who we elected to oversee and protect our interest. We are a larger representative force than those in Government. We are as much accountable for being taking advantage of by our leaders and those that are allowed to do so! So if we are a larger force, then we the people can make a difference in how we respond to the thievery, swindling and the greedy tactics the financial system has been using for years.
In this blog, the question isn’t what is the problem, but what can we do about such bullish gall and what steps should we take to ensure that it will not happen again.
Simple; under no circumstances should you use a credit card if you can go without whatever it is you think you want! Do not use your credit card for anything except an extreme emergency! During the Christmas Holidays use only cash! Whatever you need to sell, or wherever you can withdraw from to eliminate this excessive financial responsibility, do it immediately! By eliminating the weight of this huge gorilla riding on your back every month opens you to a world of possible savings and a new found financial freedom. Even if you can afford it why be submissive to a system that is robbing you very skillfully.
Now there is the argument that there are times and situations when a credit card will only do, (ex. Car rentals, hotel reservations, flight reservations, etc.) There is also the argument that credit cards eliminate carrying cash and you don’t risk losing it or it being ripped off from your person and yes you can argue that you are rewarded points and other incentives for using your card. But if you think that they are giving you something free, you are sadly mistaken. Using a credit card is costing you more than if you were to use your own cash! So why not get a debit card which serves the same purpose as a credit card and in all cases you are using your cash without an interest, annual, and/or possible late fees!
By joining forces and participating in large numbers, using our debit cards and refusing to use your credit card during the holiday season will send a message to the industry that we the people have had enough of the bondage that keeps them financially comfortable while we suffer for years trying to remove this ever tightening shackle. The holiday season is when we use our credit cards most! So by not using it during that time, if nothing else, we will get their attention and at the same time support the President in his efforts demanding basic business morals.
The time has come for all people to bring a No-More Revolution against the Credit Card Industry for the mistreatment, misguided, dishonest, self-serving way they have represented themselves. We have to start taking responsibility and make those that desire our patronage to be forthright and honest in all their dealings.
Stop assuming that others have your best interest in mind because they don’t!

Your Time Is Now!
Your Time Is Now!
As we approach this crucial juncture concerning the future of our nation, before you pull that lever and select the candidate of your choice, you must ask yourself two questions. What are the Presidential Nominees selling and what are you looking to buy? Whenever someone is soliciting your patronage, they will present you with all kinds of information to persuade you to purchase what they are selling. Now your responsibility is to filter the facts from the none-facts so that your understanding of the product is exactly what you want. Will it do, can it do, what guarantee do I have, can I trust the seller, what kind of track record does it/they have, will it satisfy my exact need, are the questions you must consider. If you don't investigate their claim then you could end up with something that has no advantage to your situation or need. I will say, a lot of times word of mouth works for many of us when it comes to should we or shouldn't we, but that system has its flaws. Either way if you don't make a concerted effort to learn and understand your possible selection then you have just wasted your money and time. In this case it will be a lot of your time and possibly a lot of your money. Time wise, four years to be exact and money wise, oh my God!
A man once told me when I was a very young lad, you can narrow every situation down to two questions. Now those two questions may require two more questions and so on and so on. But in actuality you really only have two questions.
So question one is… What are the main two Presidential Nominees offering/selling? They both are offering/selling two entirely different packages. One wants you to believe that the journey we are presently on should continue. The ride has been bumpy but it still is a comfortable one considering the alternative. He wants us to over look a lot of deceitful acts by the party he represents. He wants us to accept that his party has created two status quos, the very rich and the very poor and then there are those of us who are close to one end of that spectrum or the other. He wants us to believe it is okay to be considered one of the richest nations in the world and have an ungodly unemployment percentage rate while people are losing their homes in record numbers. He wants us to ignore the present national debt that will have our children's children, children paying for it their entire life. When the Republican Party took office, our national debt was in the black and wasn't a concern, the economy was satisfactory to all! In this day and time he wants us to allow men and women in the military to continue to be a part of a conflict that should have never taken place. In the 21st century, war should be the absolute last choice and even then still figure out another solution. War kills! And a war we could have avoided has no place in our history. There is so much more that he is selling that will require your undivided attention, your absolute comprehension. His offer is an open book because he represents and supports most of the present GOP's products even though he is making an effort to stand separate from his party's last nominee because of his popularity or lack there-of.
The other Nominee has a slogan simply called "Change"! He is selling change. He is offering anything but what we have witnessed and accepted the last eight years. He is reaching out to those who have become invisible. I'm talking about those that are not on either end of the status quo spectrum that the present Gatekeeper created. These are the people paying for the operation of the nation, but not able to make ends meet because of the high cost of everything and taxes on their basic necessities. Yet the high end of the spectrum isn't held accountable financially by getting unreasonable tax breaks. He is reaching out to those who are tired of the present administration. He's calling out common sense people to recognized basic ideas with common sense results. He has high family values and speaks about making us a nation again with that particular priority. This nominee can only boast about what he hoped to do. No, he doesn't have a track record for us to challenge or dissect. So his offer may or may not seem worth supporting! What I'm saying is that his options or offer has yet to be proven. But is that reason enough to not support him or to support him? He is a great salesman. There is so much more that he is selling that will require your undivided attention and investigation.
So Question two is…What are you buying?This question leads to a list of other questions. What are you willing to support? Which Nominee has your best interest in mind? Who is going to serve this nation's needs better for the next four years. Can we afford another four years of the same mentality or do we need change?
In closing I ask that you please take notice to the two questions and figure out where you stand and who are you willing to stand with when the smoke clears? We can't allow ourselves to not be a part of this moment in our nation's history. A very important document in the archives of our National records begins with these words "We the people" this has so much significance to our present situation and our future. Why, because no matter what your ethnic background is, if you are an American then you are the people and have a responsibility to select a leader that will continue to make this country great, not for some self-serving reason but for the betterment of all Americans! Don't let the skillful campaign advertisers persuade your choice. In other words don't support something that they say will serve you better, just because they say so. Get right down to the facts. Know the facts. Be able to discuss the facts with those that are undecided or uncommitted or even committed. This is an election where you can't sit idly by. You must take this election with the seriousness of life and death. You may never get another chance to make your situation better just because you were able to explain to people why they should vote or not vote for a certain person. Voting for someone because of a party affiliation is like killing someone because of principle. Ludicrous!
Our time is now…Your time is now! Let us now do what needs to be done!

Issac Hayes Teaching...Positive Influence
Believe this or not Issac Hayes was my first teacher in how to rap to a woman. I know the word "rap" isn't one we use anymore but that's what we said back then.
In order for you to travel back in time with me, I must ask you to think of the late 60s and imagine a young black kid seeking guidance to approach a young girl he likes. Then maybe you will understand the reason I share this story.
As a very young fellow who found women to be the object of my desire I needed some communication lessons. Without a male figure around I really wanted to ask questions. I waited patiently for the day the teacher would arrive. Little did I know that my class was about to be in progress and it would come from an unsuspecting source.
One night an older friend got the keys to his father Buick so that we could hear this song he heard earlier on his father's 8-track player. (don't laugh) I didn't mention my age but I did say as a very young fellow. You remember the 8-Track player with the four channels and those irritating interruptions between each track. Anyway he promoted the song as best he could while we waited for the songs prior to the reason for us being there to play. We anticipated it as if it were going to be one of the highlights of our young lives. Well for me it was! The music started to play and the words started to flow. Man that combination of words and music was just classic and classy. His deep voice with that slow delivery was just so masculine and powerful. This man was saying something and whoever he was talking to had to listening. I waited patiently through song after song to hear it one more time. And then just one more time, again and again. I'm not sure how many times we listen to it but it still wasn't enough times for me. Still at that moment I knew this guy (Issac Hayes) had the formula to how you should say and possible what you should say to a young girl you might be interested in. I Stand Accused became the format for all of my communications with young girls. How he went from being humble in his approach to explaining his background and closing with a honest confession was the formula I needed. Saying exactly how you felt without reservation is what I took from that song that night. Opening yourself up for rejection was risky but at least you would have put the ball in her court. After much thought I knew the next morning that the lesson the night before gave me exactly what I needed to win one over. Just be honest about your feelings. Maybe she will accept your advances, maybe she won't, but at least you expressed yourself honestly. I immediately took my lesson to the playing field. I found out later that day how effected it was. She shared what I said with her best friend who also shared it with another friend until it finally got back to me. It worked! What I said and how I said it not only got her attention but it put me in a different light as far as all the young girls were concern. I became that sensitive little guy in the neighborhood who said the right things and told you exactly how he felt. I started hearing things from the other girls in the hood like " if someone would say things to me like you said to so and so, they could have anything from me." I had my class, put into effect my lessons and found myself with a passing grade based on the response I was receiving. Issac Hayes moved me to the next level with a song he wrote.
By the time Shaft hit the stores I was already a student with tenure to the words and sounds of Issac Hayes. When most people saw Shaft as his first great piece of work, I saw him as doing nothing less, I expected this from him, after all he was my first teacher in communications with the female gender... Even at that young age I knew then he would be someone I would consider great in the music industry.
Like all positive, great people who leave their mark on this earth, he will be greatly missed but remembered because of his willingness and obedience to share his God given gifts and talents with his fellow man.

Maybe she will accept your advances, maybe she won't, but at least you expressed yourself honestly. I immediately took my lesson to the playing field. I found out later that day how effected it was. She shared what I said with her best friend who also shared it with another friend until it finally got back to me. It worked! What I said and how I said it not only got her attention but it put me in a different light as far as all the young girls were concern. I became that sensitive little guy in the neighborhood who said the right things and told you exactly how he felt. I started hearing things from the other girls in the hood like " if someone would say things to me like you said to so and so, they could have anything from me." I had my class, put into effect my lessons and found myself with a passing grade based on the response I was receiving. Issac Hayes moved me to the next level with a song he wrote.
By the time Shaft hit the stores I was already a student with tenure to the words and sounds of Issac Hayes. When most people saw Shaft as his first great piece of work, I saw him as doing nothing less, I expected this from him, after all he was my first teacher in communications with the female gender... Even at that young age I knew then he would be someone I would consider great in the music industry.
Like all positive, great people who leave their mark on this earth, he will be greatly missed but remembered because of his willingness and obedience to share his God given gifts and talents with his fellow man.

"Are There Any Good Men?" That Was the Question
"Are There Any Good Men?" That Was the Question...
Yes there are good men! There are good men who are single, there are good men who are taken and just for the record there is no shortage of good men. The question isn't are there any good men out there. The question is would a good woman recognize one and would she be willing to be that good woman for him no matter what his station is in life at the initial encounter? You see some good woman judge a man on his present station in life, never taking in consideration that if he's a good man his station and situation will change. That's how some good women miss out on good men. The funny thing is, everybody hasn't always been who they are, where they are and what they are.
Anyway...I'm sure with all of the playa-playa mentality as well as the pimp attitude and the down low brothers it is difficult to identify a good man just on appearence sometimes, but we do exist! The pressures of our jobs and responsibilities as well as other factors creates a shield, a distraction if you will, that keeps us so caught up in our daily responsibilities and problems, which is why we loose sight of the obvious. We overlook whats right in front of us. We can't see whats good for us, that which is most likely delivered to us by the Creator. The reason for that is the enemy is good at what he does and that is to divide and conquer and create distractions. If the enemy is successful at keeping good spiritual minded people separated from each other, half his job is already done and that is to create doubt, which causes one to ask "are there any good men, or women for that matter?
I know that some of us have observe two people in relationships with one being good, but notice such a negative attitude from the other partner. Then we ask ourselves why are they even staying with that person, because if I were their man/woman and they treated me as good as he/she treats them, then they would never have a problem with me. The bad somehow connects with the good. But every now and then that person who displays that negative attitude isn't a bad person. They have found themselves in a relationship that they don't know how to resolve and become very disenchanted until they appear to be a sour grape, when in fact they are a good person. They won't do what it will take to move on to be happy. So they look like a person with a negative attitude without a clue, that's the perception they are displaying.
So I close with this. Again, there are good men! We pray someday to have that good woman! You may ask, what makes us good men? As good men we realize that we are not perfect, and have, and will make mistakes, but we have learned from our mistakes. We have matured, we have weathered some storms, we have been taught to respect and honor the female species. We take responsibility for being a real man, we love life, we either accept what life has to offer or we make the necessary adjustment to improve our situation. Either way we look for the positive and overcome the negative. We are very much aware of who our Creator is, what He means to us and how He must be a part of all of our relationships. That's how we know!
Yes, good men do exist! We come in all colors, shapes, sizes and incomes. We love what we love, we have learned how to love, therefore we know how to love. We love freely! We love with a Godly authority! And a lot of times we ask ourselves "why hasn't my good woman been delivered to me, a good man? " But then, maybe, I answered that question already! Distractions!

"Get Over Yourself"
I know we can't but if we could return to a date four hundred years in our past and listen to one fervent prayer of one native African, listen to the communication between a scared, confused, wise, proud person and his Creator, we wouldn't marvel at the success of our people today. We would be so grateful! We would hear a prayer filled with faith. Faith that there is a Supreme Being. Faith that this Creator, this Supreme Being would fix what appears to be going so wrong. Faith that whatever this evil is, where ever this evil person came from, this evilness will be eliminated. Today when you evaluate the success of the African-American in reference to the efforts made by the non-black person to keep us down, beneath, separated, submissive and a mentality of inferiority, we haven't done so bad. True, there are still some, OK many barriers that are still placed in our path. Yes we still have to be twice as good as our non-black counterpart. We can't complain, get up set or just feel like not talking one day. WE ARE TREATED DIFFERENTLY!
If you take in consideration that our ancestors came to a unknown land, hearing an unknown language, subjected to a treatment from another human being that was absolutely inhuman, how they made it is nothing short of a miracle. I believe that some of the native Africans knew in their heart that God's plan would work out for the betterment of his people. They knew that in order for the prayer to be fulfilled, existence would be the key. Yes they could have killed themselves, or they could have remained uneducated, they could have remained angry and not except a helping hand from a non-black, but they didn't. They knew that prayer, answered, is God's blessing to his children. They knew that our faith in Him was all needed to bless our people. They knew that all that matters is what God's plan is for us individually and collectively. They knew that a fervent prayer petitioning that God's will be done was the only way to pray! So GET OVER YOURSELF and ask God to place His will in your life, not your will but His absolute will for your life.

Thinking to Myself.
I haven't been around a very long time and I'm surely not a genius so my limited knowledge is just that, limited! Saying that to qualify the following statements maybe somewhat unorthodox but give me a little credit for at least being that honest. The more days I get to spend on this earth the more I believe and trust in the Creator, the more I believe that only He can make my after life comfortable, the more I believe that we are in a spiritual warfare. That a battle is going on to win soldiers to one side or another. Why? Well lets take a few questions to put how great, yet limited we are as human beings.
Question one! How many hairs are on your body, better yet, how many are just on your head. You may say that's not a fair question but if you been alive for as long as I have then it would appear that you have some idea as to how many. But we both know you don't! The Creator knows the answer to that question! What does that question have to do with anything. Just flow with me for a few more minutes!
Question two! Why are there good people and why are there bad people? If we really knew what makes bad people bad then why can't we reverse their way of thinking. And if we are so wise, why can't we catch that bad flaw early enough to make them better citizens.
Question three! Why does it takes a man and a woman, a sperm and an egg to make a human being, create life within another human being, the woman? I"ll tell you why! The Creator said it would be that way.
The Creator has placed things in plain sight for us to see so that we would understand that we are only human. After that, well lets just say it is well beyond us! Simple things like the earth rotating so that sun light will give us days. Get this, most all living things need sun light and those that don't are still affected by it in some way. Water is a necessity to living, period, yet some say they can't drink nor do they like water. Every human being is two thirds water. So how do you dislike that which is the majority of your corporeality. The foods that grow from mother earth with the nutrients that is also necessary for our good health is simple and another example of how he cares for us.
My point is this...we are only human and there is a Creator who cares for that which he has created. I call him God and you may call him something else. But lets give credit where it is due.
God is a very fair God even though there may be things that He allows to happen that we don't understand. But if we would really listen, pay attention then his method and way is to make us focus on Him. He said that he is a jealous God and we shouldn't put anything or anyone before Him. Yet we do place things and people above Him. What is sad is that here is the Creator who can tell you exactly how many hairs are on your head, something you have no idea of, so if He's willing to keep a record of such insignificant information to us, surely He's willing to take care of our every need.
